Vesna Pavlović’s MixTape: B-SIDES
By Vladimir Jerić Vlidi, media researcher, publisher, and author.
From the text:
“A mixtape, just like photography, is a phenomenon that requires the three conditions of existence: it needs an author as the point of observation, it needs an external object of perception, and it needs a medium to record the results. Trough her MixTape project (re)examining her early work Vesna Pavlović challenges this premise on many levels.”
Transmediality, artivism and contextual dialogues in the work of Vesna Pavlović
By Milena Dragićević Šešić, University of Arts, Belgrade.
From the text:
“Personal artistic archive of Vesna Pavlović is the best and maybe the only archive of the ephemeral, radical artistic action within the counterpublics of 1990s in Serbia. This archive was not done and developed within precise politics of memory of civil society that was not even aware of such a need. The artistic archive is the consequence of the fact that Vesna Pavlović through photography created her own auto biographical performative act that helped counterpublic to become interwoven in a strong fabric of people and organizations committed to bring changes to disintegrated and polluted Serbian official public space.”
